Access to accurate, up-to-date land surveys is a critical component of effective land governance and decision-making for First Nations. The Survey Funding Program is designed to support First Nations across Canada, excluding Operational First Nations under the First Nations Land Management Act (FNLMA), by providing access to funding and technical resources for land survey projects that strengthen land administration and community planning. For funding for Operational First Nations under the First Nations Land Management Act (FNLMA),please visit or contact: https://labrc.com/

Delivered through NALMA’s Survey unit, this initiative helps advance priority projects such as land designations, allotments, permits, additions to reserve, and boundary re-surveys. It also supports land use mapping and other survey-related activities that contribute to informed land management practices.

Working in close collaboration with Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), and regional partners, the program emphasizes project readiness, coordination, and ongoing communication. This ensures that survey projects are efficiently delivered and responsive to the evolving needs and priorities of First Nations communities.
