
The Atlantic Region Aboriginal Lands Association (ARALA) was established in March 2000 and became incorporated under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act in 2019.
The Atlantic Region Aboriginal Lands Association is a non-political organization and operates as a technical land management advisory board and it is not intended to provide political consultation on land related issues.
The Executive Board of Directors is comprised of 6 members from various First Nation communities in the Atlantic region.
Purpose
- To raise professional standards of First Nation Lands Management professionals by providing opportunities for training, professional capacity development, mentoring and technical expertise in the area of First Nation Lands Management;
- To develop and maintain communication among First Nation Lands Management professionals;
- To build and promote the Atlantic Region Aboriginal Lands Association throughout Atlantic First Nations and to encourage their membership with ARALA;
- To promote, encourage and recognize First Nations for the successful work they have done in the area of First Nation Lands Management.
