The National Aboriginal Lands Managers Association (NALMA) is requesting proposals from experienced consultants or firms for the development of two dispute resolution models. These models would be for use by First Nations wishing to provide on-reserve spouses and common-law partners with a mechanism to resolve matrimonial real property disputes on separation or survivorship. Additional deliverables include training materials to be used to introduce the models and provide instruction on the use, customization and implementation of the model and a work-book to guide the First Nation technicians or committee tasked with the development, customization and implementation of the dispute resolution process.
Proposals will be received by the National Aboriginal Lands Managers Association located at 1024 Mississauga Street, Curve Lake, Ontario K0L 1R0 until 4:30 pm on August 24, 2018. Proposals received after the closing date will not be considered.

Executive Director of Lands, Environment, and Resources: The Executive Director of Lands, Environment, and Resources (LER) is responsible for overseeing and managing the overall LER Department, the accompanying performance measurement system, and plan to support good governance and transparency in accordance with NCN’s approved strategic direction as set by the Chief and Council; and in accordance with NCN government’s philosophy, principles of Kihche’othasowewin (Constitution/Great Law of the Creator), Nehetho laws and customary principles, and other relevant laws and policies.
The Executive Director of LER is responsible for ensuring that performance measurement systems are developed that support a high performance workplace culture and safe work environment, with emphasis on responsibility, accountability, productivity, quality, and goal attainment. The Executive Director of LER is a member of the Senior Management Team and assists and advises other department and program managers, Council’s planning and priorities, Treasury Board, and other committees on lands, environment, and resource issues and priorities.

Aski Governance Manager: Under the general direction of Executive Director, the Aski Governance Manager (AGM) provides, plans, and implements projects that give effect to NCN’s Constitution and Aski Pumenikewin (Land Code) implementation. The Aski Governance Manager will lead the development of land laws, policies, plans and strategies in accordance with NCN’s approved strategic direction as set by the Chief and Council. This position is aimed at implementing sustainable land management practices on all NCN’s lands, resources, and traditional territories.
