First Nation Law Making

The following resources can aid First Nations who are opting to develop their own MRP law. You may also refer to the MRP Toolkit for step by step best practices to guide your law making activities. It can be found here.

The First Nations Gazette provides a public notification service (free of charge) to assist First Nations during their law-making process. For example, First Nations may wish to publish a notice of the proposed MRP law or notify the community of upcoming consultation sessions or exhibit their enacted matrimonial real property law.
